Pushing and securing with air cushions

Pushing material together and loosening it – a practical example from silo discharge.

Our TrustTube® and PowerCushion® air cushions are designed specifically for industrial use.

In the application example shown below, the TrustTube®/PowerCushion® air cushions are used to push material together and loosen it in a silo. The silo is first filled. If material is meant to flow out through the lower opening but has become so compacted that self-locking occurs, the air cushions are pressurised and push the material together via the flaps. This loosens the material so it can fall out of the silo.
